Today we reject the slump - the bed rot, the stress and lack of sleep, and we find our light.
It's the end of the year, and while most of us are waiting for the holidays and new year to feel a little more rejuvenated, in the spirit of monthly reflection and step by step growth, I'm challenging myself and you to take your energy inwards. Coming into a new season, I can feel the warm summer sun bringing new light across my world; in sun-kissed skin and rejuvenation to a sluggish and tired mind. With changing winds comes the opportunity to grow in new directions, or return to home.
Finding your spark is finding the little things that make your soul feel lighter.
Here's my focus:
Movement That Feels Good
In recent years fitness motivation came from a need to look a certain way. But I used to love to dance for the sake of joy, to run for the sake of feeling freedom and to work for the sake of feeling powerful. I'm challenging myself to move my body without punishment and obligation.
Nutrition That Nurtures
Call it overhyped but the joy in a strawberry matcha and good nourishing meal is unmatched - and it's not just hype, its science. Food is fuel not just for our bodies but our energy and creativity. Choosing meals that make you feel vibrant, hydrated, and nourished can transform your entire day. I'm thoroughly over hangovers, bloating and sor stomachs from food I know aren't good for me.
Time For Creativity
Creativity is a spark all its own, and giving it space can reignite your energy in ways nothing else can. Buy the dress that makes your heart sing and be bold in your fashion choices. Draw, sing, play, embroider, paint. Express yourself through colour, texture and shapes. In all other facets of life there is pressure to perform well, so create for the sake of creation and nothing else. Reconnect with your imagination, explore new facets of yourself, and celebrate the process.
Pro Tip: play a groozy playlist each morning to kickstart your spark everyday.
Light and love always.
